R&B Star Avant Signs With Capitol After releasing four albums via Geffen, R&B singer Avant has signed a new deal with Capitol Records. "They've shown that they're dedicated to push their resources for my projects," says the Cleveland native. "I look forward to a long lasting relationship with many, many hit records." Avant will release his as-yet-untitled Capitol debut in the summer of 2008. The set will feature production from Rodney Jerkins and DJ Smurf, among others. A single will be released in March. UGK Rapper Pimp C Found Dead UGK rapper Pimp C was found dead this morning in his room at the Mondrian Hotel on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip. He was 33. Police found the rapper, whose real name was Chad Butler, dead in his bed after responding to a 911 call. UGK's publicist at Jive Records confirmed Pimp C's death to Billboard.com. "He was truly a thoughtful and kind-hearted person," Jive president/CEO Barry Weiss says. "He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing Southern rap to the forefront. He will be missed and our prayers remain with his family." Radiohead Fleshes Out European Tour Plans Radiohead has confirmed 16 European summer concert dates for 2008, including an appearance at Denmark's giant Roskilde Festival. The British alternative rock band's first confirmed concert for the year will take place June 7 at the Malahide in Dublin. The tour, announced today on Radiohead's official Web site, will roll on to France, Spain, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and Germany. Billboard broke the news in October that Radiohead would hit the road for an international tour in 2008 in support of its new release, "In Rainbows."
